Just a thought...

So you know laziness has hit an all-time high when you walk into one bathroom, see an empty toilet paper roll, turn around and walk into the second bathroom you know already has more toilet paper on its roll. What ever happened to just reaching under the sink and grabbing more? I'm sure it has NOTHING to do with being 37 weeks prego and not wanting to crouch down or bend over. So is it really laziness? Or is it just a wonderful blessing to have two bathrooms. I'd like to think it's the second. :)

Baby Room

I added a few of the finishing touches to the baby room last night and thought, "what better thing to do with the pictures than post them on our blog!" That way my Ukrainian family can see them too. :) This picture above is a bird mobile idea I found online and FELL IN LOVE with it so I made one for the room.
And then a painting to go with the mobile.
Half of the room. The stroller on the left is a gift from loved ones at the shower Hannah and Aunt Kathy threw for me. I love it and can't wait to use it!

Two posts in one day!

I just posted the last post and realized I wasn't done talking! Taylor's at a class at Sierra College and so I've been here at the computer all evening organizing our photo files. It sure feels good to have it all in order now. Well now that I'm sitting here typing, I can't actually remember what was specifically on my mind...oh! (As Taylor would put it I'm suffering from "Mush-mom syndrom," a version of what my mom calls "mush-brained-mom syndrom." Sad thing is I think it really exists and I'm actually suffering from it). So last night I had a dream about our baby (aw!) and it was so amazing which made it extremely difficult to wake up and realize she's not in my arms just yet. The only thing that was a little unsettling about the dream was that our baby girl was actually a baby boy. Now don't get me wrong, I would love a boy just as much as I would a girl, but with all of the pink things, dresses etc., that fill the baby room...let's just say it's a little nerve-wracking. And like Taylor said, he'd probably be stuck wearing pink for the first little while. (Ha not really).

I'm finding myself almost in disbelief that I'm due in 2 and a half weeks. And what's more crazy is that technically she could come any time. Most likely later rather than sooner as statistics for first pregnancies show, but it happens. I'm nervous about labor but at the same time all I can think about is how bad I want to hold our baby in my arms. I love her so much already and can only imagine what it will feel like to actually see her for the first time! And of course I really can't wait for the heart burn to go along with the growing watermelon in my tummy. I'm also pretty nervous about the first few weeks after labor and delivery. It'll be nice to finally get into a rhythm with a new baby and breast-feeding and for recovery to happen. It's all so exciting!

Friday morning happenings

Today Taylor didn't have to work (Yay!) and so we decided to spend the late morning at Denio's, a local Farmers/Flea market. Just after we left Taylor realized how desperately we needed gas! Neither of us had our phones because they were both dead and so we hoped and prayed that we'd make it to the gas station.

The car choked and struggled but we sailed on through hitting almost every green light, and finally made it to Arco. Taylor's cute face as we stood out in the fresh air.

Our not-so-happy faces as we watched the gas pump drain our money. "Forget the kids' college funds, there goes our own!"

Denio's was a neat place! It reminded me a lot of walking through the markets in Italy and Ukraine. A lot of different cultured people, but still everyone spoke english. Here's a hat I told Taylor to try on.

We went to the fresh produce stands and bought some yummy grapefruit and mandarines, and for pretty good prices too! (Always a plus). We saw a lot of interesting and random things, like crazy weapons that caught Taylor's eye and lots of shoes that caught mine. Sadly I didn't do too well at taking pictures while we were there...maybe next time!

Preggers

I took a better pregnant picture a day after I posted the last one and in this one I'm dressed and ready for the day. I thought I'd go ahead and display it. I hope whoever is reading this is having a good day! My day has been nice, got a few things done, took a two hour nap and now I'm getting ready to leave for my 36 week doctors appointment. Have a good day!

Home sweet home

Today is a beautiful rainy Monday and the first day of my future as a housewife/homemake/soon to be mother. Saturday was my last day of work and now I am home. I can't even describe how at ease and peaceful I feel! Especially because this third trimester really hit me hard a couple of weeks ago and made me feel like I was back in the first again, which made work extremely difficult to pull through on the not so good days. But like I said now I'm home, and I get to do everything I need to get the house ready for the baby in the coming weeks. So speaking of things to get done, I've worked on several projects for the baby in the past weeks which were mainly baby dresses and I promised my mom I would post pictures here on the blog today.First of all here's the belly update! I'm 36 weeks (by wednesday technically) and measuring 40 inches around. Our little baby is very strong and moves a lot, keeping me entertained through almost anything. We just can't wait to meet her!!!



This little t-shirt material dress I made is SO comfy! I actually made it to be a night gown, but might like to use it as a dress also. Whatever works I guess!


This little thing she won't be wearing for very long just because of how small it is but it was fun and easy to make!


These last three I made from the same Simplicity pattern that I bought at JoAnn's. I could spend forever in that store by the way. This little white one with purple sleeves is for 0-3 months. I still have to sew on the zipper but I've been avoiding it, I hate doing zippers.
This black and white one here was the first one that I made and had so much fun doing it that I kept going with more.


And I think this one is my favorite one of all. I'm a bit obsessed with the pink with brown polka dots but I just think it's such a cute combination! This one along with the dress before this are size 3-6 months. I just can't wait to see them on her.
